Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data the Dash Chrome extension and the Fixed Point services that support it handle, what we do with it, and what rights individuals have. It is operated by Fixed Point Holdings LLC, 5700 Lolene Way, Taylorsville, UT 84129 ("Fixed Point", "we"). For privacy inquiries, email info@getfixedpoint.com.
1. Who this policy is for
- Dealership users of Dash (service advisors, managers).
- Vehicle owners whose information may be displayed on dealership screens Dash reads.
- Visitors to getfixedpoint.com.
2. What Dash does
Dash is a browser side-panel that runs locally in a service advisor's Chrome browser while they work in a dealer management system (DMS). It reads the on-screen vehicle service history the advisor is already viewing and presents preventive-maintenance recommendations and an optional printable report. All recommendation logic runs locally on the advisor's machine.
3. What data Dash reads — and where it goes
3.1 In-browser reading
While a service advisor is viewing a DMS screen, Dash reads on-screen content including the vehicle VIN, mileage, op codes, service history line items, and the customer name displayed on the open repair order. This reading happens inside the advisor's existing authenticated DMS session and is processed entirely within the browser.
3.2 Data transmitted off the advisor's machine
Dash transmits data to only three destinations:

Dash does not transmit customer names, phone numbers, addresses, repair order numbers, op codes, dollar amounts, or service histories to Fixed Point or any third party.
3.3 Data stored locally on the advisor's machine
Dash uses Chrome's built-in storage on the advisor's profile. Session storage (current scan state, in-progress audit checklist, pending report HTML) is cleared when the browser closes. Persistent local storage holds UI language preference, tech certifications cache, dealer ID, license key, a randomly generated install UUID, and the cached license validation result. Dash does not persist customer-identifying data across browser sessions.
3.4 Data stored by Fixed Point
Fixed Point stores license records mapping a license key to a dealership account, install UUIDs tied to those license keys, and validation timestamps and basic operational telemetry needed to keep licenses working. Fixed Point does not store consumer or vehicle-owner personal information.
4. Cookies and tracking on getfixedpoint.com
The Fixed Point website uses only the minimum cookies required for the site to function. We do not deploy third-party advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or analytics that personally identify visitors.
5. How we use data
- License key + install UUID: to verify the Extension is authorized and to enable or disable access.
- VIN sent to NHTSA: to decode the vehicle for accurate recommendation generation.
- Support communications you initiate: to respond to your request.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for advertising. We do not share personal information with third parties for their independent use.
6. Subprocessors
A current list of subprocessors that may handle data on our behalf is published at getfixedpoint.com/subprocessors and includes Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (DNS), and Google (Chrome Web Store distribution).
7. Data retention
- License records and install UUIDs: retained while the dealership subscription is active, and for up to 24 months after termination for legal and accounting purposes, then deleted.
- Support communications: retained for 24 months.
- Server logs (operational): retained for 90 days, then deleted.
8. Your rights
8.1 Vehicle owners (consumers)
Because Fixed Point does not store consumer personal information, requests under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA) or comparable state laws are generally answered by confirming that no such data is held on Fixed Point's servers. To submit a verified request, email info@getfixedpoint.com with the consumer's name, the dealership at which their vehicle was serviced, and a description of the request (access, correction, or deletion). We will respond within 45 days. If we determine no data is held, we will confirm in writing.
8.2 Dealership users
Dealership users may request a list of license records associated with their dealership and deletion of their dealership's license key and associated install UUIDs. Submit requests to info@getfixedpoint.com.
8.3 European or California residents
Dash is currently sold only to U.S. dealerships and is not directed at the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California consumer markets. If you believe we hold personal data subject to GDPR or CCPA, contact info@getfixedpoint.com and we will respond.
9. Security
Transport encryption (HTTPS / TLS 1.2+) is used for all server communications. Production systems are accessible only to authorized Fixed Point personnel using multi-factor authentication. The Extension itself runs sandboxed inside the user's browser and operates only against the host permissions declared in its Chrome Web Store manifest.
10. Children
Dash is a business-to-business tool for licensed automotive dealerships and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Extension after a change indicates acceptance of the revised Policy.
